	Glass capillaries The production of glass capillaries has a long tradition in our house. Aside from standard sizes, we also produce numerous special sizes – also in small quantities. Our modern production makes it possible to realize special requests within a short period of time. High precision measuring technology guarantees the keeping of close tolerances. Materials: We produce capillaries from different glass qualities. We can also process material that has been put at our disposal. The following glass qualities are available: Soda glass (lime-sodium-glass), also coloured Borosilicate glass (DURAN©, PYREX©, etc.) Neutral glass (transparent and amber) Aluminium silicate glass Quartz glass Lead glass ( with lead contents of up to approx. 60% ) Sealing glass, like Kovar glass Special glasses like, e.g., UV glass Shapes and dimensions Most capillaries are produced with a round shape, and with different wall thicknesses – from extremely thin to extremely thick. Further shapes and variants can be produced as follows: Round, oval, square and rectangular Multiple clusters of up to 30 channels Multiple clusters with different Ø Special profiles like a star or cross With filament or divider Further types of inner geometries We can produce capillaries within the following parameters: Outside diameter from 0.070 to ~ 10 mm Inside diameter from 0.005 to ~ 10 mm Wall thickness from 0.050 to ~ 5.0 mm Length from 1.0 to ~ 3,000 mm Futher treatment All types of capillaires can be individual treated with different methods as followed: Frequently used methods are: Cutting to a standard size Narrowing down, expanding, compressing, pulling out tips Siliconize Chamfering and grinding the ends Fire-polishing, sealing and tapering Sealing to metal Gluing and welding capillaries Micro segments Very fine capillaries can be cut into very short segments. At the moment, we are in a position to produce capillaries with a diameter of at least 300 µm and 1 mm length. These fine parts require a special antistatic treatment which we have implemented in our production process. For transportation, these parts are packed in special containers made of ESD-material, in order to offer you an optimal handling during further processing.
