At Hilgenberg’s, glass consist mainly of one component: experience. The company was founded in 1913 at a place with 800 years of expertise in glass: in the glass centre in Thuringia with its rich tradition. Three generations later, Hilgenberg GmbH is not only a producer but an experienced partner in development and services all around glass.
The family business which now resides in Malsfeld near Kassel supplies well-known research institutes, laboratories and universities as well as great enterprises in the chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, aviation and space technology. Hilgenberg GmbH specializes on treating and processing glass in many ways, and especially on glass tubes and rods. The main part of its turnover – 52 % – comes from the European and global business, and around 40% from Germany.

One of our services is the production of prototypes, drawings and technical proposals. We share our know-how, working closely together with our clients’ departments of development. Numerous research institutes in industry and universities make use of our production flexibility and short delivery time. The handling of batches, weight- and measure controls with measuring protocols and assignment of components is part of our services.
